Privacy Policy

The Foundation for the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Assets is committed to honoring the privacy of visitors to our website (the "Website"), www.paintingday.sunchild.org. This policy may change from time to time, so please check back periodically.  It governs any information collected from visitors to the Website. Any information collected by FPWC through the Website or any other means will only be used by FPWC and will not be sold or distributed to any other agency or entity. Our goal is to protect online information with the same diligence that we protect information obtained through other means.

Information Collection and Use
The Website collects information about each visitor in three ways: (1) through your IP address, which does not contain any personal information, (2) through any e-mail correspondences you send to us, (3) when you submit information using an online input form, such as the painting submission form.

 (1) IP Address
Note: Your IP address does not contain or reveal personal information about you. Information such as your name, address, or phone number cannot be obtained through your IP address alone.
FPWC web servers log all Website visitors' IP addresses to automatically collect information about usage of the Website. This information is collected only to help diagnose problems with our servers, administer our Website, track traffic patterns, and identify ways to make our Website more useful. Information is never used to track or monitor individual users.
Additionally, our Sites employ cookies.  A cookie is a small file that is put on your computer. This file identifies specific information about your visits to the site. Cookies can only be read, and therefore used, by our web servers. Our cookies do not save or store any personal information as such: they take the form of a unique numerical identifier that enables a computer, but not an individual, to be recognized. Cookies do not detect and cannot access any information you may have on your computer.  We employ cookies to perform three functions: to let us know how long you are logged on to our Sites and to automatically log you out if you are inactive for over thirty minutes; to store your user ID and password so that when you return to our website you won't have to re-enter some or all of that information; and to provide us with statistics regarding what pages of our Sites you visited, and how long you spent there.  You may configure your browser to accept all cookies, reject all cookies, or notify you when a cookie is sent. However, when accessing an area that requires a password for entry, cookies are not optional and continued paths through the password area will not continue if cookies are not enabled.

 (2) E-mail Correspondences
Unless specifically requested, any e-mail messages you send to FPWC, including your e-mail address, are kept private and will not be disclosed to third parties. You will from time to time be provided with or given the opportunity to obtain additional information of interest, updates, surveys, bulletins or other communications from FPWC via e-mail.

 (3) Online Input Forms
Unless specified by the form, all information submitted to FPWC using our online input forms are kept private. The information is used to contact you about our programs and services that you have already expressed an interest in. We do not share e-mail lists of any kind.

If we have trouble processing your entry, the contact information you provided is used to get in touch with you.

We also may use a managed hosting provider and/or other subcontractors to assist us with the provision and maintenance of the Sites. If we do, we will impose on such provider confidentiality obligations for the treatment of information.

The personal information - name, age, town and country – will be published on the Website, along with the participant’s photo and the images of the submitted paintings. These paintings become the property of FPWC and will not be returned to the authors. FPWC reserves the right to retain the paintings and their images for its present or future use. They will not be sold to third parties.
